So, what exactly can you expect after a hair straightening service?

There are many salons that advertise this service. However, it really depends on the stylist, the type of straightening product they use. Tsumiki Design specializes in this with Japanese stylists and treatment products from Japan. This makes a big difference as we receive training on the usage of the product directly from Japan.

The Japanese hair straightening process

The process takes about three to five hours in total. You’ll spend time being alternately shampooed, heated under heat lamps, blown out and flat ironed. After which you will emerge from the salon with a completely retexturized, smooth and sleek head of hair. After care After Japanese hair straightening, you do want to be sure to keep hair protected from the sun and moisturized, so frequent deep conditioning and an SPF spray or other UV protective hair product is highly recommended. We recommend to wait at least one to two months before coloring your hair after the treatment. If you need further advice after the treatment, you can always give us a call and one of our stylists will let you know what to do for the best results.

You will need to come back for a touch up on the new growth anywhere from 6 months to a year, depending on how straight you wanted it to stay and the rate of hair growth. As your hair grows at it’s roots, you’ll find that it gives a little extra while the remaining hair is still straight and manageable. Some customers like it that way as well.

We’d like to be fair in what we offer, the pricing ranges from $300AUD to $500AUD depending on the length of your hair and whether your hair is hard to "de-curl". Typically, the longer and curlier the hair, the longer the process takes, and the more you will spend.
